Resident In Counseling
Taylor Cheski
LMHP-R, MS
Building a strong relationship is the foundation of our work together. I take the time to learn about all aspects of your life to create a balanced, human connection—often using humor to keep our sessions approachable and grounded.
My Therapeutic Approach
I approach therapy from a person-centered and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) orientation. This means our work is tailored specifically to your unique needs and strengths. Together, we will focus on:
Mindfulness and Safety: Implementing breathing and mindfulness practices to help you feel safer in your body and move away from "fight or flight" responses.
Values Alignment: Exploring your core values and taking action to live in harmony with them.
Thought Awareness: Learning to recognize and accept thoughts without judgment, helping you address patterns that may inhibit your connection with your community.
Areas of Focus
I am honored to support individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences. Using person-first and destigmatizing language, I work alongside:
People with substance use disorders
College students and LGBTQ+ individuals
People navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, or eating concerns
Individuals processing trauma or relationship challenges
I believe that through an understanding of yourself and the implementation of values-based actions, you can realize your abilities and move toward a more fulfilling life.
